Orchestral Pieces

Listed below are a variety of tunes arranged for string orchestra. One of my favorite patches for strings is "Warm Strings" on the Roland JV-880. Sometimes I will use patches on the Casio Privia PX-S3000 or the Roland D-50 instead.

From The Nature Suite

• The Majesty of the Mountains

  An orchestral interpretation of an exhausting climb up a mountain and the resulting reward of the breathtaking view at the top.

• Changing Vistas

  This composition is arranged for a string orchestra and percussion. It evolves/transitions through a series of modulations and style changes reflective of the variety of scenic vistas in nature.

• Transcendence

  Listen to the grandeur of a string orchestra cycling through a series of melodic motifs in 3/4 time before the surprise ending.

From Vision Quest

• Tatanka (Buffalo)
  

  A great sounding string patch on the Casio birthed this tune. It is arranged more as a classical legit composition as it consists primarily of strings and orchestral percussion (timpani, wood blocks, etc.).

The Four Horsemen

• The Second Horseman - War
  

  Traditional military march arranged for a string orchestra
  Listen as more dissonance and chaos is added

• The Fourth Horseman - Death
  

  A brisk disjointed string orchestra riff starts off and dissonance is prevalent throughout the piece.
  The orchestral section culminates in a majestic orchestral string climax
