About the Music

This Jan Hammeresque high-energy synth tune was inspired by a drum loop I downloaded. It’s a very simple melody with a sprinkling of harmonically-richer jazz chords. Jan Hammer is my second favorite synth/keyboardist — George Duke of course is #1! Aside from Jan’s early work with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, his album “The First Seven Days” is a well-listened to favorite album of mine.

The synth lead is the Roland D-50 and the 2nd lead—the distorted feedback guitar—is of course the Oberheim M-1000. The OB has a lot of cool sounds - I need to re-explore it more!
