May 2026 - Its truly mind boggling what's happening in the state of the world today. Our country is currently mired in rampant corruption, conflict and divisiveness on a seemingly hourly basis. But take heart... America has a rich tradition of resistance and defiance -- Wikipedia even has an entry devoted to America’s history of rebellion!
The recent anti-ICE protests and the huge nationwide No Kings Protests are defiant attempts to shine a spotlight on corruption and injustice in our country as was the Standing Rock pipeline protests, the Black Lives Matter movement and others in our recent past. Of course we can vividly recall the Tiananmen Square massacre and the solitary protester bravely standing in front of a line of menacing advancing tanks.
About The Music
A fanfare on the strings opens the piece and soon high pitched Native American flutes are added. The 2nd half transforms into a funk-rock groove with a screaming guitar synth solo to take it out - pretty defiant sounding for sure!
