About the Music
The groove on this tune came from the Quarry View Drum Circle when I filmed the Fire Dancer. Perched among ancient rocks, immersed in a wall of pounding djembes and a myriad of other percussion—it was a profoundly powerful yet zen-like experience.
The ethereal opening of the soundscape floats freely above the percussion groove which fades in slowly and eventually locks into a solid groove. Native American flutes emerge from the groove and then the trombone takes the spotlight. There's an occasional undercurrent of trombone multiphonics on the long vamp and finally the trombone takes the tune out on the fade.
