Details: I composed for and played trombone in a 5-horn instrumental band in Boston in the late 70s. We played original music and gigged around the jazz clubs in town. This recording was made using musicians from that band ("Floresta") as well as a few great musicians active or associated with the great local funk band "Gypsy." I've always loved the flute and was pleased to have a written and recorded a composition utilizing a 3-flute lineup that included an alto flute. I was playing a large bore trombone with an F-trigger at the time (a Conn 88H) and loved the dark mellow quality of flugelhorn and trombone blending with the flutes. Denny adds a nice light touch with a Fender Rhodes (still one of my all-time favorite keyboards!) and Mick does a beautiful job at the Coda, capturing a "Wes Montgomery" kind of feel.
